Spring Looking Yacht Day

Spring Looking Yacht Day

Spring Looking Yacht Day

the family is so at ease in the setting that the photos almost make themselves.

Angie invited me out for the last yacht ride of the year before her family's boat went to dock for the winter.

Lake Michigan stretched out in every direction, the city skyline holding the horizon, that particular kind of late season light that you only get on the water.

We were so lucky to have such warm sunshine in the middle of fall, truly Spring feel. The whole family wore tones of blue, like they planned it without planning it, and the palette gave the whole shoot a cinematic feel before I even raised the camera.
These are the kind of shoots you don't forget.

You're moving with the boat, the light is shifting every few minutes, and the family is so at ease in the setting that the photos almost make themselves.

We came back with a gallery I'm still proud of, and a small gratitude for getting to be on the water one last time before the cold rolled in.
