Tobias's family threw his birthday at a public park in Evanston, and even the wind couldn't get in the way!

It was chilly, the kind of day that usually makes outdoor events tricky, but this one held together because of the people in it!

A Brazilian family, a beautifully diverse group of friends, kids running around, parents passing food, that easy sense of community you can feel from across the lawn.

The photos came out warmer than the weather. Real laughs, blanket wrapped hugs, cake candles holding on against the breeze. Some celebrations don't need much to feel full.
